Depart school for a full day Boyne Valley Tour. Highlights include the battle of the Boyne site between King William III and his father-in-law King James II which was fought on the 1st July in 1690.
It was the largest number of troops ever deployed on an Irish battlefield.
Visit the Hill of Tara, best known as the seat of the High Kings of Ireland. The Hill of Tara has been an important site since the last Stone Age when a tomb was constructed there. Tara was both a religious and political centre in the early centuries after Christ.
The final visit is Trim Castle, which is the largest Anglo- Norman castle in Ireland.
It was constructed over a thirty period by Hugh de Lacy and his son. Hugh de Lacy was granted the Liberty of Meath by King Henry II in 1176.
